flowers have opened for less
In collaboration with the writer and Collage artist, Lena (sobre todo hay que)
Project Statement
This project is a collaboration between two artists, Lena with her words & collage and Solène with her photographs. Born out of long hours spent together in Barcelona’s cafés and on shady terraces, our conversations about death and life, relationships, fears and hopes, femininity and sexuality, and the moon slowly grew into something more.
We centered each piece on different themes, drawing from what we like speaking about together, inspired by each other’s individual work. Mixing, cutting, and pasting our art together, it became something more than what each photo or poem could transmit in isolation.
From a summer to a spring, Flowers Have Opened for Less spans the first months of our friendship. It is a beginning. We feel the tug of the moon, the heat of the returning sun, and the desire to keep creating, together, wherever we may be.
