I met Imogen almost two years ago, at a yoga class, and asked her if she would like me to take some photos of her. Since then we both are trying to made our way through the artistic world, collaborating, exhibiting on the same art event in Barcelona, working together on a music video clip. And she is now working in Berlin as a dancer and multi disciplinary artist. I am proud to have collaborated on the part three from her last project SIX. A project about Art, Bodies, Dance, Feminity, Poetry...

She is from Finland, and living her life in Stockholm as an artist, a circus performer. She liked my photography, I liked her way of inhabiting herself, it was as simple as that. We did a photoshoot together. Both of us are not so keen about talking too much. But somewhere, that day, Nature was speaking for us. She told me about her friend Aini, also from Finland. She is an observer of human beings and an enthusiastic person.
The day of the shooting, the three of us had a lot of fun creating the atmosphere of this photoshoot. At the end it went all naturally. The space, the light, our 3 souls, all of this reflects in the photos of that day. When I look at the photo today, some weeks after the shooting, back in Barcelona, I feel something very positive. Behind those melancholic attitudes and colors, there is peace. An empty place in our mind. Somewhere where there is no space and time. In them, I seek the beauty of imperfection, the slowness at the pace of Nature. I see the faces of a new Era, the future does not have to be all bad. There is hope. And this hope start with individuals… like Aini & Aino. She is Paula, a talented Dancer... But Above all a human with a kind heart and a beautiful presence to the world. We met an afternoon for a few photos in the Laberint D'Horta Park in Barcelona. A place out of the time, with a mysterious nymph statue, that seems to spy at us all afternoon... In collaboration with Erase uno vez
City life is very exiting and full of promises. I think I could not live without the city... But I feel so much overwhelmed. Everything In the city is made for you to be as entertained as you want... So you do things: go for a run, go for groceries, buy things, eat and drink in a coffeeshop, Meet friends... When you are at home, you are not afraid to be alone because your smartphone is next to you, at any second something very exiting can happen, you wouldn't like to miss it... And then there is Netflix, podcasts... Tones of things to avoid being by yourself, and feel the emptiness.
Those photo where taken during two days when I decided to disconnect totally and went alone at a Airbnb lost in the country side with not wifi (it was very important)! And yes... I was afraid But I could feel lengths of empty hours and this is magical... Full Photos here... |
